Progressive Glasses in Hanoi

Progressives put distance, middle and reading vision in one lens, with no visible line. That convenience depends on two things more than the brand name: an up-to-date prescription, and measurements taken on the exact frame you will wear. Both happen here, in one visit.

How long each progressive takes

Tell us the day you leave Hanoi when you walk in. We only suggest lenses that can be finished before then. If you fly out first, international shipping can be arranged, and we confirm the destination, cost and a realistic delivery time before you order. Delivery within inner Hanoi is free, hotels included.

What progressive lenses cost

Prices below are for a pair of lenses, frame not included. Each range runs from the cheapest version (low index, clear lens) to the most expensive (high index, photochromic or Fit version).

Essilor Essentials Everyday Plus, an Essilor progressive range outside the Varilux line, starts at 2,080,000₫ a pair (index 1.5, clear, frame not included) and usually takes four to five days, like other Essilor progressives. Within Varilux, the entry points at index 1.50 are Liberty 3.0 from 4,480,000₫, Comfort Max from 6,780,000₫ and Physio 3.0 from 11,780,000₫. Full tables by index are on the lenses page. We agree the whole figure with you before anything is cut; an upgrade is always a separate line you can refuse.

If you are only in Hanoi for a few days

• One to three days: a lens that takes about 24 hours, such as Chemi Magic Form, if your prescription is within its range. We check that at the eye test.
• Five days or more: Essilor progressives become possible, including Essentials Everyday Plus and Varilux.
• Nine days or more: ZEISS becomes possible.
• Less time than the lens needs: ask about shipping, or choose a lens that fits your dates. We would rather say no than promise a date we cannot keep.

Why the fitting matters more than the brand

A progressive lens has a narrow corridor between distance and reading. If it sits too high, too low or off-centre, you end up tilting your head to find the clear spot, whatever the lens cost. So the order here is:

1. A free eye test, 20 to 30 minutes: auto-refraction first, then a trial frame, never cutting straight from a machine reading.
2. You choose the frame.
3. Pupillary distance and fitting height are measured on that frame, as you wear it.
4. After you collect, if you have a spare day, wear them for an evening and come back to have the fit adjusted.

Most first-time wearers adjust within a few days to two weeks. Wear them all day from day one rather than switching back to old glasses. Common questions

How long do progressive glasses take in Hanoi?

At Manh Long Optical, Chemi Magic Form progressives take about 24 hours. Essilor progressives take four to five days and ZEISS progressives seven to nine, because the lens surface is cut at the maker's lab. High or unusual prescriptions that need custom surfacing take 10 to 15 days. Tell us your departure date before you choose.

How much do progressive lenses cost?

The price depends on index, coating and photochromic options. You get the full figure before anything is cut.

I only have three days in Hanoi. Can I still get progressives?

Usually yes, if your prescription is in the range of the lenses that take about 24 hours, such as Chemi Magic Form. Essilor needs four to five days and ZEISS seven to nine. If you fly out first, international shipping can be arranged and quoted before you order.
